GUTS ARCADE
Team

Founded in a cramped loft with more cables than chairs, Guts Arcade makes games that don’t play safe. Every release is an experiment — some work, some break gloriously. We believe in player discovery, mechanical weirdness, and pixel art that punches above its weight.

We work like old-school arcade tinkerers with modern tools — soldering nostalgia to new ideas until sparks fly. Levels are built to be learned, unlearned, and then broken in the best possible ways. Our goal isn’t just to ship a game; it’s to ship a system players can poke, prod, and outsmart.

If you came here for predictable difficulty curves or polite design, you’re in the wrong hall. If you came here to play something that looks retro but fights back with modern smarts — welcome.

Jules Ortega – Systems & Engine

Writes code like it’s a living organism — sometimes obedient, sometimes feral. Specializes in building engines that bend without breaking and systems that let us sneak modern mechanics into retro shells.
Maya Flux – Concept Art & Art Direction
Turns level layouts into playable stories. Balances aesthetics and function so every jump, hazard, and collectible feels placed with intent (and occasionally mischief).
Orion Kade – Audio & Integration
Composes in code as much as in sound. Designs adaptive scores and reactive audio systems that change with player choices — no two playthroughs sound the same.SID lover, 8-Bit Wunderkind.
